Middle School
Trillium Middle School
Advising classes in the middle school are multi-age (6-7-8) environments where the students focus on community awareness, service projects, team building, and literacy projects of many different varieties. The students move through their day in a block schedule, choosing classes in social studies, language arts, foreign language, art, music, performance, physical education, technology, science, mathematics, and more. The emphasis continues (from the intermediate grades) to be on independent learning and self-led student involvement. The democratic model of Trillium is displayed most through class meetings, field trip planning, class and project choice, and the freedom to learn in a way that works best for each student in cooperation with their teachers and their school community.
